Government Now Trying To Pull ‘Quality Engineering’ Back From The Gateway Of Extinction

It is quite true that Engineering, which used to be the top career choice for decades along with medicine, is losing its sheen. A few years ago, a report said just a quarter of engineers in India were employable in actual. Of late, some other studies put it at less than 20%. Recently, a survey by employability assessment firm Aspiring Minds said 95% of Indian engineers can’t code.  The situation is worse in the information technology sector.

Techies are losing not just jobs but also marriage proposals.

As per a media report, “According to the National Employability Report by Aspiring Minds, employability for roles such as mechanical design engineer and civil engineer stands at a meager 5.55 per cent and 6.48 per cent respectively. The lowest employability percentage is for the chemical design engineer role at 1.64 per cent. Employability in the domain specific roles is the highest for electronics engineers at 7.07 per cent. “

The Government Of India has now tightened the belt to save the quality of engineering from getting lost in the dull and dreary land of over-populated ‘engineers'( Which people call them).

All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the body which is responsible for regulating tech education in India, has now made it compulsory for engineering students to complete two internships during their course. The colleges will have to arrange for these internships. AICTE will also announce an updated curriculum in a few weeks.

Reportedly The credit scores of B-Tech are also going to come down from 200 to 160.  AICTE would recommend all universities offering BTech courses in the country to cut down the maximum credits to be achieved by the engineering students for clearing the undergraduate course to 160 from the existing 200.

The council chairman Anil Sahasrabudhe told reporters on Thursday that AICTE has taken the decision in view of the need for realigning the structure and concept of engineering studies in the modern era. “At present, several universities that offer undergraduate engineering courses follow the 200 credit norm earlier set by the AICTE. Much of what they study may become obsolete even before they complete their course,” he said

“Now, there is too much for the engineering graduates to munch on. They don’t get time for anything else than to study the books. The number of credits is being reduced with the objective to prompt young minds to explore the unchartered territories and indulge in self-learning of engineering and other subjects of their choice and taste,” he said.

BREAKING: Microsoft Paint To Be Killed Of After 32 Years!

It’s been almost 32 years now, 32 Years of MS Paint!! How can a Microsoft user forget it? But the sad news is it is approaching its end. Yes! You read it right! One of the most prominent icons of Windows is getting killed!!!. Yes, Microsoft is killing MS Paint in its Windows 10 Fall Creators update. The very same MS Paint which we used to try to write our name in different fonts and styles since Windows was first launched in 1985. And the very same MS Paint which kept our kids busy for hours trying to make some design or drawing.

MS Paint, Microsoft, Tech News

It is the very same MS Paint which we used in perhaps every possible way we could since Windows was first launched in 1985.

Microsoft’s next Windows 10 update, called the Autumn (or Fall in the US) Creators Update, will bring a variety of new features. But one long-standing stalwart of the Windows experience has been put on the chopping block: Microsoft Paint.

First released with the very first version of Windows 1.0 in 1985, Paint in its various guises would be one of the first graphics editors used by many and became a core part of Windows. Starting life as a 1-bit monochrome licensed version of ZSoft’s PC Paintbrush, it wasn’t until Windows 98 that Paint could save in JPEG.

With the Windows 10 Creators Update, released in April, Microsoft introduced the new Paint 3D, which is installed alongside traditional Paint and features 3D image making tools as well as some basic 2Microsoft Paint is to die after serving the world for 32 years.

However, it is yet to be confirmed that when MS Paint will officially be removed. A precise date for the release of the Windows 10 Autumn Creators Update is equally up in the air too.  It now becomes interesting that whether windows users will celebrate the birth of new update or the death of their beloved tool for years: MS Paint!

Mukesh Ambani Launched Jio Phone, Free With Rs. 1,500 Deposit, Unlimited 4G Data

Harsh Joshi, Techtalkings, TechNews, Jio

At the Reliance AGM on Friday, JioPhone was introduced as “India ka Smartphone”, by Chairman Mukesh Ambani for an “effective price of Rs. 0” – But a fully refundable amount of Rs 1500 was to be paid at the time of purchase which will be fully refunded after three years. The JioPhone will include access to apps like JioCinema, JioTV, and JioMusic. The phone comes with a number of apps and a browser installed aside from Jio’s offerings too.

The JioPhone was introduced by Akash and Isha Ambani, revealing the phone’s support voice commands, along with standard feature phone functionality. Isha Ambani said that the phone looks familiar by design, to ensure that it is easy to use.

The company will also be adding NFC support to the JioPhone to allow tap and payment solutions with a linked bank account, Akash Ambani said. This will also support UPI payments, and debit and credit card payments, similar to Samsung Pay, he said.

The phone will be available from August 15 – for testing, in beta, and for pre-booking from August 24. Users who pre-book will be able to buy the phone from September, on a first come first serve basis. It will come with a couple of different data packs. Users can either pay Rs. 153 per month, for which they will get free voice and SMS, and unlimited data, along with Jio apps, or they can pay Rs. 309 per month, to get all this, plus the support for mirroring your screen on a TV, via a cable that can even be plugged into CRT TVs. After three years, you can return the phone, and get a full refund on the deposit.

Besides that, the company will also have two sachet packs, at Rs. 24 for two days, or Rs. 54 per week, for users who don’t want to commit to Rs. 153 as an upfront payment.

Jio Phone, Free With Rs. 1,500 Deposit, Unlimited 4G Data, Launched by Mukesh Ambani

Mukesh Ambani was quoted saying at the launch of the phone that, “There are 78 crore mobile phones in India,” Mukesh Ambani pointed out. “However, in this 78 crore, there are more than 50 crore feature phone users, who have been left out. They can neither afford the cheapest LTE smartphone, nor the exorbitant cost of data.”

He further added “Data is the oxygen of digital life, and no Indian should suffer because of unaffordability,” he added. “Sadly the vast majority of mobile users are starved of data. This unfairness must end, and Jio is committing to ending it today.”

To accomplish this, the company needs to deliver on three pillars, Ambani said – connectivity, data affordability, and device affordability. “Jio is a data strong network built for the Internet from the ground up,” he said. “The TRAI speed test portal has consistently ranked Jio as the clear 4G network leader in coverage, usage, and data speeds.”

“Our network continues to rapidly expand. Jio, in the next 12 months, will cover 99 percent of the population. India’s 4G coverage will be more than its 2G coverage,” he added. To meet the need for device affordability, the company realized it would have to release a 4G VoLTE feature phone, as even an entry level smartphone costs between Rs. 3,000 and Rs. 4,500, Ambani said.

Airtel recently increased the data volume on its existing home broadband plan and introduced a limited period offer of 1000 GB data bonus to its broadband users in NCR region.

The Tech Review : Honor 8 Pro

Harsh Joshi, HOnor 8 Pro

One of the most good looking smartphones was Last year’s Honor 8 and it seems Honor has carried forward that design philosophy forward on the Pro.

Although, this time thanks to the full metal design, there is a lot of sturdiness to the 8 Pro.

The 5.7-inch display sports quad-HD resolution and is vibrant enough, although struggles under direct sunlight.

The phone runs on the latest HiSilicon Kirin 960 processor coupled with 6GB RAM. It’s a rocket of a device and runs all kinds of applications with ease. Be it multi-tasking or gaming, no lags at all.

Apart from the 128GB storage variant, it also comes with expandable memory up to 256GB and has a dual-sim option which adds another plus to its features.

Honor have been star performers in the dual-camera department and this time also they have excelled. The camera quality seems brilliant.

It comes with a 12+12-megapixel rear camera setup which is capable of delivering some excellent results. Offers good stabilization although colors tend to be a bit over-saturated. Has a lot of cool modes to play with like 3D creator which can be used to create animated doodles of yourself or others! Great fun!

For its price tag of Rs 29,999, the Honor 8 Pro comes with some seriously good hardware, and actually is perhaps the first sub-Rs 30,000 phone to be released this year with proper Android flagship level specifications – a zone that was occupied last year by the likes of YU, Xiaomi and OnePlus, but has been uninhabited this year

BIG OFFER! Reliance Jio Might Give 4G Smartphone At Rs 500!

Looking at the loosened grip in the market, Reliance Jio has decided to make the next blast by launching a 4G VoLTE phone at just 500 rupees.

As per the media reports viral around the internet for quite some time now, Mukesh Ambani had already shaken the market for a similar cause around 13-14 years ago. At that time, the company had given the phone to run the Internet for just Rs 500 in the monsoon offer.

Harsh Joshi, Technology, Amulya Gaur

However, this news is not yet been officially verified but it is being said that this plan might be announced during the Salana General Meeting of Reliance Industries. The meeting is scheduled to take place on July 21. This news is also in the air that during this meeting, Mukesh Ambani can announce Jio’s next tariff plans as ‘Jio Dhana Dhan’ offer is nearing its tenure end.

The company might plan to target those users who still use cheap phones on a 2G network via this scheme. The price of these phones is being said slightly above thousand rupees. But to connect customers to the network of Jio, the company has decided to provide subsidy on all these phones which make the price just 500 rupees.

This might increase the number of active users of the company. It is notable that for the past three months, the number of users connecting to Jio on a monthly basis is continuously decreasing. According to a report, As of April 2017, there are about 11.25 million subscribers with Jio.

If the experts are to be believed, then living is planning to create a stir in this mobile phone plan industry. Jio is India’s only telecom company, which gives 4G VoLTE network. At the same time, Airtel, Vodafone, and Idea are still testing this network.

It is also being reported that Jio has already ordered to make millions of devices. This contract has been given to a Chinese company. Its shipment is going to start from the last week of July. If the scheme runs according to the plan, then the new plan will be launched on August 15.
